Ellie's Story
Before Powers Canine, I knew I loved my dog, Ellie, but I was frustrated because I didn't know how to communicate my expectations for her behavior. Once we began training, I saw an immediate improvement in my relationship with Ellie. I feel I learned just as much as Ellie did from the trainers at Powers Canine. I feel so grateful for the relationship I now share with Ellie

Millie's Story
My reactive 1 year old Mini Dachshund was difficult and embarrassing to take on walks. I was feeling hopeless on being able to take her everywhere with me. Powers Canine was quickly able to not only give Millie confidence and teach her to not react on the leash, but was also able to teach me how to handle her better and help eliminate her reactions before they even start. Now I take her everywhere with me without having to worry about her reactivity. Thanks to Powers Canine, Millie loves going to restaurants and on walks now!

Ocean's Story
My sister and I were looking for professional training for our golden retriever puppy, Ocean. We had previously done basic puppy training classes but were still struggling with leash reactivity, pulling on a leash, recall, and some basic behavior issues. We were at a restaurant in PB when we saw a dog that looked just like Ocean, but was honestly so much better behaved in public. We asked how they got their dog to be so relaxed in a public setting. That's when we were recommended to reach out to Powers Canine. We are so glad we did!! Powers Canine taught us week by week how to build on skills Ocean was learning while also teaching us the skills and the "why" behind the training. Since completing training, we've noticed a night and day difference in Ocean's behavior. We've been able to take him with us to so many more places (restaurants, sunset cliffs, off leash walks/hikes etc.) and he is so much calmer and more attentive to commands. We also have had guests come over to our house and compliment how calm and well behaved he is. Training has 100% strengthened our bond; he respects us more and we feel less stress when taking him in public. I am so glad we invested in training like this because we truly saw such an improvement!

Captain's Story
Our Belgian Malinois named Captain started training with Powers Canine at 6 months old. Every week we noticed her behavior getting better but her self confidence and demeanor improving as well. You can definitely tell when we are in public spaces that she is way more relaxed and has her mind set on tasks we are doing rather than other animals or chaotic events going on around. Family members have been telling us how great Captain is and how well behaved she is now. It really is all thanks to Powers Canine. They have given us way more knowledge than we could have asked for. We have a closer bond with our dog, rarely have frustrations with her, and feel like she is well adjusted into our family now. The day we finished her classes a man approached us and couldn't believe how calm she was at the restaurant. It really put into perspective that training with Powers Canine made such a positive impact with Captain and she's only 8 months old!

Winston's Story
My husband and I stuck to the notion that golden retrievers are all menaces until they're 2-3 years old (if you're even "lucky"). Our then 3-month old puppy Winston would bark, play bite, and jump at everything and everyone most especially when he's excited. We found Powers Canine through endless recommendations online and we're incredibly happy that we stumbled upon the name.
During the training program, we had more fate in Winston. Powers Canine not only trained him but also trained us so closely, helping us understand how our dog thinks and how we can get him to willingly choose to do the right things. I personally was left so shocked and speechless for a couple of hours when we got a well-behaved Winston back from his board&train because I could not believe that he was the same dog I dropped off!
Winston's behavior completely changed in the best way possible, both at home and outside, with just us or with guests/strangers. THE BEST PART: he did not turn into a robot!! He's still the puppy that we know and love, except he now respects us and our boundaries. He understands that there's a proper time to play and a proper time to behave.
We truly 100% recommend Powers Canine for those that would love a better and stronger relationship with their dog. The result we personally got was the kind that made people think we got lucky with our dog, but really, it's because WE got lucky that Winston got properly trained by Powers Canine.

Valkyrie's Story
We adopted Valkyrie from a rescue center. She had been there for 8 months and was adopted out a few times and was returned within days of adoption. With our compassionate hearts we wanted to make it work, but were struggling. We attempted to train her ourselves for a while with very little success. The rescue center even gave us a few free training sessions, but she didn't benefit from them because it was only treat based training. Walks with her were very stressful and she was pulling heavily. My parents that we lived with at the time couldn't walk her at all because she would pull them to the ground. Our vet gave us the contact info for Powers Canine, so we reached out the very next day. Their response was quick and professional, and after just a few minutes during our first assessment we could tell our dog was beginning to behave! It was by far the best thing we have done for her and for our family. She transformed into such a better dog and companion.
My 70 year old mom enjoys being able to walk her now. When we have friends over and we put her into a "spot" she will stay there until we release her from it. It wows our guests every time!
Valkyrie is now the companion we always wanted her to be, and our friends all wish their dogs were like her. Thank you Powers Canine! We could not have done this without you!
